Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Develop a framework that integrates NNSA and EM guidelines as well as applicable regulatory requirements to provide a formal process and operationally integrated capability for transitioning legacy cleanup completion into a Long-Term Stewardship program at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL).

The policy shall include, but is not limited to:

    Regulatory framework
  1. Description of roles and responsibilities of the four parties
  2. Role of LTS and Legacy Management
  3. Flowchart/graphic that visually shows the steps of the process
  4. How often the policy must be reviewed (e.g., every 2 years)
  5. Stakeholder communication strategy


education and Licensure

Bachelor’s Degree in Science and/or related Environmental Field.

Required Skills, Experience, and Qualifications

  • Due to federal contract security requirements, candidates must be able to successfully pass a federal background investigation to secure and maintain DOE Q security clearance if required.
  • Due to federal contract security requirements, this position requires U.S. Citizenship. (required)
  • Successful candidates will be able to perform the essential functions of the job with reasonable accommodation.   • Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing. (required)
  • Please note that marijuana remains a Schedule III controlled substance under Federal Law. Federal contractors must follow Federal drug-free workplace rules, which prohibit marijuana use, even if medical or recreational use is permitted under State Law.
  • 15+ years of experience or equivalent years of education and experience.
  • Experience working in a DOE and/or NNSA setting.
  • Significant experience in environmental, safety, and health.
  • Experience as a Program and/or Project Manager.

Preferred Qualifications and Location Details

  • Candidate who has held a Q clearance within the last two years.
  • Part-Time position.
