Waste Connections
Waste Connections is seeking an experienced and customer-focused Scale House Attendant to join our team in Polkton, NC. Previous experience in the waste or recycling industry is a strong plus but not required for the right candidate.
This role is a critical first point of contact for our customers and requires strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers
- Operate truck scales (weighing vehicles in and out accurately)
- Maintain and update customer account and transaction information
- Set up new customer accounts in the system
- Run daily and monthly operational reports and input data into Excel spreadsheets
- Generate, review, and process customer invoices
- Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and site staff
- Perform administrative tasks while working independently with minimal supervision
Qualifications & Requirements
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Solid communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Flexible availability, including weekends
- Physical & Work Environment Requirements: Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods throughout the workday. Ability to use a computer, keyboard, and office equipment for prolonged periods. Ability to work in an environment that may include dust and noise.
