The Department of Neurobiology is looking to hire a Laboratory Technician to support cuttingedge neuroscience research. In this role, you will contribute to experiments investigating the neural machinery underlying decisionmaking, working with both animal models and postmortem human and comparative tissues.
Key responsibilities include assisting with brain tissue collection, sectioning, and IHC, ISH, or immunoblotting; supporting nuclei isolation and singlecell genomics library preparation; and maintaining an active animal colony, including tracking, breeding, and recordkeeping. You will also manage data logs and databases, track surgical specimens, and prepare chemical solutions for experimental use.
This position is ideal for someone detailoriented, motivated, and eager to gain handson experience in neurogenomics and advanced neuroscience techniques.
Hourly range: $28.69-$34.21
- Broad theoretical and practical knowledge of standard chemical methods.
- Technical expertise and working knowledge of neuroanatomy, biochemistry and genomics.
- Basic functional understanding of the research concerns related to gene expression in the brain.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret data critically, assist in manuscript preparation.
- Minimum 1 year of related experience or training
- Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent combination of education and
experience.
