Job Title: Biology Lab Technician
Location: Indianapolis, IN 46077
Duration: 12 Months (Possibility of extension depending upon business requirements and performance)
Schedule: 8am-4:30pm
Details:

  • Any specific skills, requirements or experience you want in a candidate: BS Biology, BioChem or other related Science Field, Lab Experience, Good Communication skills; Cell culture and aseptic technique?
  • Any additional Medical Surveillance testing required? No
  • Any exposure to common allergens? Plants, Fungus, Latex, Chemicals
  • Will non-local/remote candidates be considered? No

Job Description:

  • The client is seeking a talented and enthusiastic biologist to join the Crop Health R&D, Mode of Action and Bioanalytical Center of Expertise, based at our Indianapolis, IN Research and Development facility.
  • The biologist will contribute to our goal of providing novel, sustainable solutions to benefit farmers and consumers.
  • The successful candidate must also be able to work in a team environment, across scientific disciplines, and be capable of clearly communicating to stakeholders.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Ability to follow instructions/methods, the ability to follow a workflow chart to its conclusion.
  • Biochemistry lab techniques including protein expression and purification.
  • Strong organization, time management, and communication skills, and the ability to successfully work in a dynamic group environment.
  • Manage daily,weeklyand monthly laboratory activities, such asmonitoringof equipment, periodic laboratory cleaning and managing central supply stocks/reagents, laboratory waste and general lab maintenance.
  • Document work in an electronic laboratory notebook.
  • An understanding of the company safety culture including personal protective equipment and waste streams will be an expectation of this role.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a science related field
  • Interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to analyze and interpret data using various software tools

Nice to have:

  • Experience with protein expression in E. coli and protein purification
  • Experience with data entry and data management
  • Cell culture and aseptic technique
  • Experience preparing media recipes
  • Experience with?microbiology

Special Equipment Required:

  • Closed-toe waterproof shoes, long pants
