Job Title: Laboratory Technician

Job Summary:
With guidance from supervision, assists technical personnel in general laboratory operations and routine laboratory or information-handling tasks in support of scientific research. Works collaboratively as part of a team to support research and development of plant genome editing technologies. Familiarity with routine molecular biology techniques is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist team members in conducting experiments and technical operations
  • Follow established laboratory protocols and procedures
  • Complete assigned tasks accurately and within deadlines
  • Support daily laboratory operations and research activities
  • Help develop and manage daily work plans efficiently
  • Maintain proper documentation of experiments and results
  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies and procedures

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Biochemistry, Biological Sciences, Genetics, or a related field

Preferred Skills & experience:

  • Familiarity with routine molecular biology techniques, including:
  • Vector construction
  • E. coli transformation
  • DNA extraction (plasmid and genomic)
  • PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Work Environment & Expectations:
  • Ability to follow laboratory safety standards and company policies
  • Detail-oriented with strong time management skills
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a research-driven environment
