Lucas Soil & Water Conservation District
The Lucas Soil and Water environmentaljob.net District (SWCD) is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time District Specialist/Urban Waters position. This position will be a partially grant-funded 2-year position, with 50% of the time dedicated to the Urban Waters Coordinator and the other 50% of the time dedicated to the Lucas SWCD District Specialist. Details are as follows:
- 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Compensation $21.00 per hour
- Eligible for Lucas County health insurance program
- OPERS retirement benefits
- Paid holidays throughout year
- Paid vacation and sick leave benefits
Job duties include:
- Field conservation work
- Assisting the public with natural resources concerns
- Other duties as required to provide SWCD services including in the office and with the office’s
education turtles.
Applicants must meet the following job qualifications:
- Be at least 18 years of age and in possession of a valid driver’s license
- Pass a background check
- Possess an Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience in Agriculture or Natural Resources
- Current college students in their last year of coursework pursuing a related degree may be considered and are encouraged to apply.
- Outgoing personality, able to work independently and in a team environment
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
