Forest of Mercia CIC is part of the England Community Forest network, delivering environmental and tree planting projects across Staffordshire and the West Midlands.

We are looking for a motivated and hands-on individual to join our small team and help deliver a major tree planting programme.

The role includes planning and delivering tree planting schemes, working with landowners, schools and community groups, using GIS mapping systems, managing Forestry Commission submissions, and leading planting activities with volunteers and contractors. You will also support woodland management and ensure projects meet funding requirements.

You must have experience in forestry, tree planting or a related field, strong communication and project management skills, and knowledge of GIS systems. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, along with a willingness to work outdoors in all conditions, are essential.

The position is full time (36 hours per week), based in Essington with travel across the region. Salary is £30,000 per year, with pension, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, and equipment provided. Some evening and weekend work may be required (time off in lieu given).

This is a fixed-term contract until May 2027 (subject to funding) and is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
