Catchment Neutrality and Restoration Officer – Join our growing Planning Team in Pembrokeshire – Fixed Term for 3 years.
This is a unique opportunity to join our expanding Planning team in a specialist role based in the stunning county of Pembrokeshire, adjacent to the renowned Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.
As the Council’s Catchment Neutrality and Restoration Officer you will play a lead role in developing strategic solutions to address nutrient management issues, bringing forward restoration initiatives and improving water quality within riverine and marine protected site catchments.
The ideal candidate will hold a recognised degree in environmental science, hydrology, ecology or similar subject area. You will have experience in undertaking Habitats Regulations Assessments and experience working within a Local Authority or similar organisation with a proven ability to assess nutrient impacts on water quality.
In this role, you will play a key role in formulating solutions, mitigation and strategies to address Natural Resources Wales’ nutrient advice to planning authorities whilst ensuring compliance with the Habitats Regulations. You will act as specialist consultee for planning applications impacted by nutrients, this will be in an advisory capacity as well as producing Habitats Regulations Assessments where needed. expert advice on the conservation of the historic built environment across Pembrokeshire, including guidance on listed building repairs, design, materials, and supporting heritage-led economic regeneration projects. You will work closely with a wide range of stakeholders, including Council Officers, Members, external partners and action groups.

Bydd gennych brofiad o gynnal asesiadau Rheoliadau Cynefinoedd a phrofiad o weithio o fewn awdurdod lleol neu sefydliad tebyg, gyda gallu amlwg i asesu effeithiau maethynnau ar ansawdd dŵr.

Bydd hyn mewn rôl gynghori, yn ogystal â chynhyrchu asesiadau Rheoliadau Cynefinoedd lle bo angen. Byddwch yn cynnig cyngor arbenigol ar gadwraeth yr amgylchedd adeiledig hanesyddol ledled Sir Benfro, gan gynnwys canllawiau ar atgyweiriadau adeiladau rhestredig, dylunio, a deunyddiau, ac yn cefnogi prosiectau adfywio economaidd sy’n cael eu harwain gan dreftadaeth. Byddwch yn cydweithio’n agos ag ystod eang o randdeiliaid, gan gynnwys swyddogion y cyngor, aelodau, partneriaid allanol, a grwpiau gweithredu.
