What You’ll Do

Partnering closely with senior Sustainability, Finance, Risk, and operational stakeholders across the organisation, you will be responsible for:

  • Acting as Subject Matter Expert for the Environment Sustainability function, establishing a centre of excellence for environmental strategy, governance, and reporting across the organisation
  • Defining and delivering enterprise-wide environmental roadmaps aligned to organisational objectives, including emissions reduction, climate transition planning, and sustainability initiatives
  • Owning Scope 1 and 2 emissions measurement, target setting, and performance reporting, with a strong focus on infrastructure and operational impact drivers
  • Driving alignment of environmental practices with regulatory requirements and industry frameworks, translating complex standards into practical actions for the business
  • Embedding environmental considerations into decision-making, partnering across Procurement, Networks, Property, and broader business units
  • Leading climate scenario analysis and supporting climate-related financial disclosures in collaboration with Finance and Risk functions
  • Overseeing sustainability data management, ensuring integrity, governance, and accuracy of environmental metrics and reporting
  • Managing external assurance processes and acting as the primary interface with auditors for sustainability-related reporting
  • Championing a culture of sustainability awareness, capability uplift, and continuous improvement through training and engagement initiatives
  • Modelling organisational values and driving a culture of accountability, collaboration, and positive environmental impact

What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in sustainability, environmental management, or related disciplines, with leadership experience in complex organisations
  • Strong expertise in environmental frameworks and standards (e.g., GHG Protocol, climate disclosure requirements, ESG reporting frameworks)
  • Proven experience delivering enterprise-wide sustainability or transformation initiatives
  • Strong analytical capability with experience managing complex datasets and reporting requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive cross-functional outcomes
  • Experience working in regulated or compliance-driven environments
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to translate technical and regulatory concepts into tangible business outcomes
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experience managing budgets, external partners, and assurance processes
