Part-time Instructor (Haz-mat, Rope Rescue, CSE)

• Establish key objectives for classes 
• Facilitate curriculum to accomplish the set objectives 
• Develop or follow a syllabus that outlines topics and skills that will be beneficial to the student in their occupation 
• Make lesson plans that describe how information will be presented 
• Give lectures and organize activities to present material and deepen understanding of coursework 
• Create and observe scenarios that test students’ knowledge 
• Answer students’ questions and provide support to help them succeed 
• Record students’ attendance and involvement 
• Maintain safety policies and practices throughout the delivery of the course 
• Demonstrate all skills prior to allowing students to perform the skills in a scenario 
• Additional duties as assigned 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS 

• 2+ year of instructor experience preferred 
• Instructor 1 or OSHA 501 Trainer for General Industry certification preferred 
• Proficient understanding of OSHA and NFPA regulations 
• Knowledge and understanding of working in the emergency response industry 
• Completed a significant number of hours of in-person training as a lead instructor.  Greater than 500 preferred.
