Description

The Geographic
Information Systems Analyst 2 (GIS Analyst) turns geographic data into insights
that help children and communities thrive. UCLA’s Data Informed Futures team is
seeking a GIS Analyst to prepare and analyze geospatial data, maintain
high-quality spatial databases, and create maps and web-based products that
support research, community planning, and action. You will collaborate with
technical and nontechnical partners, translate complex data into understandable
map products, and contribute to a national initiative focused on identifying and
addressing geographic and social inequities in children’s health and
development.

This is a 5-month
limited position that may convert to career.

Salary Range: $33.09
– $65.77 Hourly

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree
    in related area and/or equivalent experience or training.
  • Working
    knowledge of GIS software, applications programming, database and table
    structure and design, user interface and experience design and web Application
    development.
  • Demonstrated
    project management skills. Understanding of cartographic skills to create
    spatially explicit map products
  • Interpersonal
    skills to work well with both technical and non-technical personnel at various
    levels in the organization
  • Ability to
    communicate technical information in a clear and concise manner
  • Self-motivated,
    able to learn quickly, meet deadlines and demonstrate problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated
    strong commitment to customer service, attention to detail, and continuous
    improvement.
  • Must pass a
    background check

Preferred:

  • Minimum two (2) years
    of related experience.
