Project Overview:

Port Arthur LNG, LLC (PALNG) is developing a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production and export facility on a site located on the western shoreline of the Port Arthur Canal in Jefferson County, Texas. The Phase 2 project is located within the overall Port Arthur LNG site. It features one LNG tank, two liquefaction trains, and an additional LNG loading berth, enhancing its capacity to meet growing global energy demands. The Project is being constructed on a parcel of land located along State Highway 87 south of Port Arthur, Texas, between the inner coastal waterway bridge and Keith Lake.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will provide supervision, coaching and direction to junior professional piling and site works field engineering personnel and project field engineering support services which includes work planning and packaging, material management, quantity verification and validation, safety and quality control, technical inspection and testing knowledge, and coordination of system turnover. Your work will contribute to ensuring field engineering activities operate safely, are complete, and conform to quality standards and project specifications. #LI-RM1

Major Responsibilities:
  • Leadership/Supervision: Proactively engages with their teams’ development through CPM, competency development/assessment and feedback. Supervises a broad range of construction engineering work within a specific engineering discipline. Directs construction engineering activities of the assigned construction engineering staff, ensuring compliance with procedures and specifications.
  • Work Planning & Packaging: Coordinates with design on constructability issues. Supervises team of discipline field engineers responsible for quantity take-off, control, reporting and forecasting. Possesses responsibility for sequencing and supporting creation of IWPs. Reviews project controls documents on progress relating to cost and schedule.
  • Quantities: Responsible for quantity take-off, control, reporting and forecasting. Oversees and administers automation and ensure direct reports are competent in their respective automation tools. Utilizes quantity data analysis to make strategic decisions for to go work plans, performance analysis, unit rate analysis, man-power curves.
  • Safety/Quality Control: Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely. Ensuring compliance with procedures and specifications. Supervises subcontract activities to ensure materials, equipment and workmanship comply with design plans and specifications. Manages and directs the completion and submittal of construction engineering records for turnover and closeout.
education and experience Requirements:
  • Required bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) and 8 -10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
  • Experience with Civil Site Works (soil stabilization/mixing, wick drains, excavations, backfill, culverts, ditches, etc.) and Piling (concrete, helical, caissons, marine) preferred.
  • Experience on an LNG construction site especially along the U.S. Gulf Coast.
  • Experience in oil, gas, refinery, petrochemical, minerals processing or power generating station construction.
  • Advanced communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheets, and database applications.
  • Working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving ability.
  • Able to work extended work schedules to support the project execution plans and schedules.
  • Demonstrated commitment to Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H).
  • Demonstrable commitment to a Zero Accident safety program. Must have work authorization within the United States of America.
