We are seeking aLaboratoryTechnicianin the department of Otolaryngology. The Laboratory Technician performs routine laboratory processes and follows routine protocols under close supervision.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Operate standard equipment.
  • Use standard procedures for specific laboratory tests and preparation techniques.
  • Assist with laboratory maintenance, prepare solutions, and order supplies.
  • Identify and report problems in the completion of routine lab processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

In addition to the duties above

  • Maintain accurate and detailed records, present data summaries, identify and resolve common problems, and use basic analytical skills to implement assigned projects.
  • Use basic laboratory skills, processing, storing, labeling, and identifying study samples.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or graduation equivalent.
  • Additional education may substitute for required experience to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Some science coursework and/or training certificate from a technical institute.
