The Department of Marine and Coastal Sciences at Rutgers University is seeking a temporary Marine Science Research Scientist to support externally funded research on ocean-glacier interactions from July 1, 2026 through August 31, 2026. This full-time (37.5 hours/week) appointment involves conducting independent research using numerical ocean modeling (ROMS) and observational datasets to investigate exchange flow dynamics, mixing, and stratification processes in glacial fjords.
The position also includes analysis of remotely operated vehicle (ROV) data collected from KAS Glacier in West Greenland to examine subglacial discharge plumes and sediment interactions. The individual will synthesize findings, prepare manuscripts for peer-reviewed publication, and contribute to deliverables under sponsored research awards. |
