Our Northeast Division is seeking a dynamic Environmental Field Scientist to join our Glastonbury, CTor Providence, RI office. You’ll be joining a well-respected and award-winning group where career development, training, and mentoring co-exist with diverse civil, environmental, water resources, and traffic/transportation projects in a fast-paced and rewarding work environment
Your Responsibilities as an Environmental Field Scientist:
- Collectfieldsamples of soil, soil vapor,groundwater, surface water, and drinking water.
- Provide oversight ofsite investigation and characterization, as well ascontaminated site remediation.
- Collect stormwater samples from municipal and private facilities in CT.
- Prepare field notes,photographs, and perform analysis and interpretation of field and analytical data.
- Prepare technical reports and conduct ASTM Phase I and Phase II environmental site assessments.
- Support emergency response services, communicate and collaborate with others, manage workloads and records, implement health & safety policies, and travelto different project sites.
What we’re looking for:
- BA/BS in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving history and reliable transportation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other widely used computer programs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent technical communication skills with strong attention to detail
- Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices and maintaining an excellent safety record
- Ability to work effectively in fastpaced environments and manage workloads efficiently
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in a similar environmental or fieldbased role
- Connecticut Remediation Standard Regulations (RSRs) experience
- Connecticut or Massachusetts stormwater sampling and reporting experience
- 40hour HAZWOPER certification
Physical & Work Requirements
- Ability to work in various weather conditions
- Physical ability to climb stairs and ladders and lift up to 50 pounds
- Willingness to travel regionally up to 90%
- Availability for infrequent night and weekend work
