The position sits within the IT department but works closely with Land Administration department to achieve the mapping needs of the organization. Domain knowledge of the oil and gas industry is desired along with competent knowledge of GIS concepts such as spatial data creation and management and data visualization.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret oil and gas lease documents, deeds, contracts and regulatory documents
- Work daily reports for quality control
- Assist with special projects involving thematic map creation, data conversion and/or quality control
- Assist with special projects as directed by management
Required Qualifications:
- Proficiency using ArcGIS Pro and editing.
- Basic understanding of plats and surveying methods
- Possess strong attention to detail resulting in accurate map representation of company’s spatial data
- Familiarity of mapping by metes and bounds descriptions and quarter calls
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- One (1+) years of GIS; Oil and Gas experience preferred
- Familiarity with Tract Builder and/or land system i.e, Quorum.
- Demonstrated experience in Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, Outlook)
- Knowledge of oil and gas land concepts such as leases, contracts, right of way, etc.
- Proven a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Proven track record of being able to solve problems and think independently and creatively
